On Ash Wednesday -(2/17) we will be hosting dinner for ourselves andPoughkeepsie Reformed. Dinner is at 6:30 in our Chapel, Worship at 7:30. Pok. Ref. will bring desserts and we will provide the rest. Rather than the traditional “pot-luck”, a roast pork dinner will be catered by “Meals by Mary”. We are requesting that you make a donation to cover the costs. Donations may be given directly to Mary Hafford, or placed in an envelope marked “Dinner” and put in the offering plate. Help will also be needed for set-up. Please see Mary to volunteer your time, or with any questions.

  • Lenten Mission Emphasis: At the Ash Wednesday service we will kick-off our Lenten emphasis. We will be handing out “rice bowl” banks. Rice Bowls is a non-profit organization started in 1980 in So. Carolina. They provide food to orphans around the world in the name of Jesus Christ. Lent is a time for each of us to reflect on the most special sacrifice of all, Jesus dying on the cross for us! So together, let’s sacrifice in His name during Lent. Place the money you would spend on eating lunch out in the bank, and brown-bag it instead. Bring coffee from home, skip the stop at the coffee shop & put the money saved in the bank. Be creative! What can you give up? Any questions please contact Mary Hafford

  • “Stuff the Bread Sunday”-Please plan on staying after service to help make sandwiches. We have been finishing up by 12:15, after putting together about 200 sandwiches which are then delivered to Dutchess Outreach. On Sunday’s their manpower is low, and they really appreciate our sandwich deliveries to help them feed the hungry.Next stuff the bread is February 14th

Adams Gift Card Update! Adams is now giving us a 10% discount on their cards. Dorothy received the good news on Wednesday when she picked up our order. How it works: We pay $900 for $1000 worth of cards, then sell the cards at face value. The 10% profit goes directly to the church. Please see Dorothy to purchase your easy-to-use gift cards. They are available in $25, $50 & $100 denominations. Great Christmas gifts!!

Thank-you to all who donated towards our comfy pew cushions. Special thanks to Carol Barnes for “getting it done”. The project is not over, and donations are still welcome for additional cushions. If you are enjoying a cushion and have not donated towards one, please give a donation some consideration. Thank-you
