*Greeting One Another

CALL TO WORSHIP from Psalm 27
ONE: The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
ALL: One thing I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.
ONE: For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will set me high on a rock.
ALL: Hear, O LORD, when I cry aloud, be gracious to me and answer me!
ONE: Do not hide your face from me. Do not turn your servant away in anger, you who have been my help. Do not cast me off, do not forsake me, O God of my salvation!
ALL: Teach me your way, O LORD, and lead me on a level path because of my enemies.
ONE: I believe that I shall see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
ALL: Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!

Opening Prayer of Praise and Confession:
Heavenly Father, thank you for sending your son to become God in flesh. Thank you for teaching us how to live through the example of your son. Be with us this morning. May our worship be pleasing to you. Have your way in this place and in our lives.

Jesus, you were faithful to your task, to your calling, despite the painful ending. You inspire us! Forgive us for shrinking back from the hard things that come with our calling. Give us strength.

Holy Spirit, fill us. Show us and enable us to live for you more and more. This Lenten season, as we follow Jesus to the cross, would you show us the way to live?

Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Lenten Mission Emphasis: Are you sacrificing anything and putting the money in your rice bowl bank? So far we know of M & M’s and ice cream. Let Mary or Kelly know what you are giving up. We can then list in the bulletin to generate enthusiasm!!! (and maybe some laughs)

Today we receive our regular monthly offering for the Open Our Doors mortgage. Please use the “Building Fund” envelope in your box for this purpose, or the general use pew rack envelope. Thank-you.

Donations are still welcome for pew cushions. We have received donations to pay for 5 more cushions, but would like to be able to have every pew in the Sanctuary “covered”. Donations may be placed in the collection plates (mark envelope “cushions”) or given directly to Carol Barnes, Pew Cushion Chairperson.

Please visit the bulletin boards in the Chapel & Hallway to see announcements of coming events in the area that may interest you.

We extend our condolences to Wanda Traver upon the death of her friend Shirley Overbagh on February 25th.

We extend our condolences to Kay Conway and family and friends of Chad Otrosinka upon his passing on February 23rd.
